Juneathon day 5: love your calves!

I am getting intimately familiar now with our foam roller. I bought ours from Helen at Ten Point in Amersham (a present for Mrs H, but that's another story!), and am very pleased with it. Helen directed me towards a Barefoot Audio YouTube video showing how to use the roller, which is excellent and thoroughly recommended as a way of doing it without inflicting extreme pain (and shows our roller too, as a perk).  [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3vEK5fahQ4]

I was booked onto Wild Training today, which is currently engaged in TABATA interval training. It is obviously pure evil, but that goes without saying. However, it is also currently set to include sprint intervals - not great for calves. So Darrell swapped me from that activity onto sets of burpees, jump lunges and jump squats (thanks a bundle, Darrell!). I'm going to have very achy glutes tomorrow, that's for sure. Anyway, that's activity 1: an hour of circuits.

After getting home and cooking up some tea, I then had a treat I hadn't been expecting. Mrs H is currently training to be a yoga instructor. She goes into Crouch End every month for an intensive weekend of training, and is set assignments and homework etc. She's currently working on putting together a class to be carried out next month - and I got to be her first try-out attendee! It was lovely - a half-hour of stretches, flows and so on, set to lovely relaxing music in our new room. Particularly after everything Wild Training entailed, you couldn't beat it.

So - a lovely Juneathon day, overall! 1 hour of circuits and 30 minutes of yoga (plus a load of foam rolling).
