Family day

Today has been a rare relaxing family day. All my children are home, and my brother and his family came round to visit in the afternoon. During the day my wife and I managed to get out for a short, easy run, which felt good and we didn't get soaked. We also fitted in a quick visit to the local spa for some time in the sauna and steam room.
We headed out for an early dinner at a local pub - the Red Lion in Coleshill. This venue is located in a village that is significant for a number of reasons. Two of our kids went to the infant school next door to the pub; then about fourteen years later our oldest worked behind the bar for a while as a student (and was able to catch up with them today).
Also, digging further back into the past, Coleshill was a village we visited while on a "Timeout Guide to Walks Around London" walk, back when we still lived in Wimbledon before getting married. Little did we know back then how significant the place would become!
In other news, I am not doing any flute practice today, but should be back on it tomorrow. Also, our new dehumidifier is sucking water out the air like it's going out of fashion, despite which the humidity numbers are only moving very slowly.
