Jobs

Written Dec 21, 2022, tagged under post

Now that we are all at home, today has mainly been a day of jobs. Nothing earth-shattering, mostly things like getting some of our decorative LED lights working, fixing a daughter's window, posting letters and so on. The most involved one was assembling a bed - which was, in fairness, quite involved.

Perhaps it's because work is done for now, but I find myself feeling like a bit of a zombie. I'm hoping a few days of sleep will bring this feeling to a close, so an early night wouldn't be a bad idea.

It's been another roller coaster kind of day, with emotions running high as we move through the relative limbo between my son's friend passing away and his funeral (the date of which isn't quite confirmed yet). Today my wife and son went to pay their respects to his body, which I hope helped with the process of taking on the awful place in which we find ourselves. Such a lovely lad, and the ripples of his death are going to be felt so widely in the community and over time.

This evening, there was much fish and chips. I can barely move, and need to sit still for a while. Thank goodness the computer was nearby...
