Janathon day 8: lunchtime run and circuits

Written Jan 8, 2013, tagged under post, circuits, janathon, rickmansworth, running, wild training

I confess to getting slightly nervous about all this extra running mileage! Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying it. I've run further in the last week than any previous week of my life, though, and with the general advice "out there" that you shouldn't boost your mileage by more than something like 10% per week, I fear I'm running an increased risk of injury.

This fear is making me re-think my plans for the next few days - an experience I read other Janathon-ers talking about too. I was considering running into work on Thursday, a 7-mile run or thereabouts. I'm now reconsidering this.

Anyway, it's late and I'm tired, so here is today's activity!

I managed a quick 4-mile run at lunch - a new route, and probably not one I'll do again as it appears to go through a golf course that doesn't welcome walkers or runners. It was quite scenic, though, and I enjoyed being outside, as ever!

Then, this evening, I went to a circuits class in Amersham. That was an hour of "mountain climbers", barbells, kettlebells, sit-ups, knee-tuck sits, press-ups and the full kit and kaboodle. Suddenly, I know why my abs were hurting so much last week!

Now, having completed my "spractice" (flute practice for a concert in April), it really is bed time. Same time tomorrow?
