Janathon '20 day 5: walk and run, with a bit of flute thrown in for "X effect"!

Today we went up to near Cambridge to visit my parents-in-law. My MIL has been rather unwell, but thankfully is making an astonishing recovery after a rather up-and-down period over Christmas. When we said we were heading up, the instruction was received to bring my flute, and who am I to argue! As if any excuse is required... So activity one: some tootling on my flootle.

Before that, and being aware of the plans for much of the day, Mrs H and I headed out for a quick walk down to the Old Town before we left. We managed to get a few thousand steps in at that point, added to slightly when the request came through for pancakes and we returned via Tesco Metro to pick up some eggs. Sleepover FTW!

After we got back, and being painfully aware of the low step count, Mrs H and I headed out for a leisurely 20-minute-ish run round Amersham, doing just under 2 miles at just under 11:00 per mile pace. Easy, but putting it all together I did manage to get past 13,000 steps in the end.

All that is left now is to complete my two in-progress habits: getting to bed on time, and doing some meditation every day. I came across the "X effect" on Reddit - the concept of trying to do something daily for 49 days. It is slow and not entirely successful progress, but getting better. So off I'd better go for that now!
