OnePlus, part two

You might recall my recent post about OnePlus's extremely poor recent update. Here's part two, and it isn't good news.
That update pretty well crippled my phone - it lost the ability to access the mobile network, for instance, or switch between apps. It also removed the option to manually install updates, which limited my options for getting things working again. Today - more than a month since that catastrophe - my phone advertised a new update, known as 13.1.0.590. With nothing much to lose, and the hope that they might have fixed the problem over the last month, I thought I'd give it a shot.
What a waste of time that was. All my problems are still there, and nothing whatsoever has improved. From what I read, my only option is to back up the device, do a full reset, then restore it. However backing up isn't so easy when the phone has lost the ability to connect to my laptop for file sharing.
I am feeling extremely frustrated. I have really liked OnePlus in the past, but right now I'm thinking I won't be buying any more in future. I assume I'll eventually get it working, and then it will be fine, but I've lost any confidence in OnePlus as a company.
