Janathon day 20: fighting fishy demons

Written Jan 20, 2013, tagged under post,amersham,exercise,health,swimming

Today was a characteristically busy Sunday. With the kids around, snow by now very slippy, homework to be done and the like, a run was always going to be a long shot. A stint in the pool, though - that's another story.

I was swimming pretty regularly from a few months before last year's Blenheim Triathlon until about 3 months ago. Then, for various reasons, I stopped. Long story short: I ended up slightly losing my nerve. So today was a hurdle-jumper kind of session, to prove to myself that I hadn't lost it all.

Me and Holger had a stint down at the Chiltern Pools in Amersham. It was tough after all this time, but under the circumstances went as well as could be hoped. I just hope it won't be another 3 months until the next time..!

Swimming: 45 minutes
Distance: 900m
Stroke: 75% front crawl, 25% breast stroke
Technique: forgotten (what little there had been)
