Janathon day 3: exercise sandwich...

This is going to be a brief write-up, what with it being late. Today has been an exercise sandwich, squashed as it was between two thick-sliced chunks of exercise and with some good slabs of meat in between!
The bottom slice started at 7:30am, when me and my friend Holger had our regular Friday morning personal training session with our trainer Darrell. We always have a scream, but usually metaphorically rather than literally..! Heavy weights were on the menu, starting with legs and finishing with upper body. So lots of weighted squats, bench presses, chin-ups, single-leg squats etc. By the end we were a bit wobbly...
Then it was time to put some meat in this sandwich; Darrell and Holger headed back to mine for a hearty breakfast of the traditional variety. Just what was needed at that point.
The meat was topped with the usual mixture of work, kids, sorting stuff, ironing etc, and then topped off with the second chunk for today - a quick run round Amersham. I was concerned my legs wouldn't have anything left after earlier, but in the event it felt good. I did 3 miles in 35 minutes - as ever, including a warm-up and cool-down walk. I'll have to upload it from my watch, but Strava on my phone saw it like this.
Hopefully tomorrow there'll be more time to tell you all about the other thing I've come across recently - my FitBit. It's been really fun, but that's another story...
