Janathon day 24: PT pairs

Friday is PT day. My PT partner has just seen a physio who said he can't run or do lunges or squats for 6 weeks, so we were on a strict upper-body regime today. After yesterday's final nail in the squatting coffin, I wasn't going to argue!

As ever, Darrell our trainer found a way to destroy us within these constraints. It largely involved TRX and used a protocol following techniques used in GVT (German Volume Training). The main part of the the session included about 20 one-minute sets, back to back, typically alternating between TRX press-ups and something complementing it such as biceps, triceps, rows and so on. We then finished off with some further sets with a bit more rest in between, and moving also to ab work with our feet in the TRX.

There was also a sting in the tail, in the form of some foam rolling after we had stretched off. How can something so apparently innocent cause such pain?!

No surprise - I didn't do any more press-ups today, what with my arms being shot from earlier. However, I have now finally made an appointment to see the physio about my ankle. Let's hope I'm not laid up for too much longer...
