Juneathon day 6: something about Fridays

Friday, aka manic day, how glad am I that you are nearly complete. Fridays in this household are usually filled up at both ends with good things: in the morning, I usually have my pairs PT session, while our youngest has "parents come in for some reading" sessions; Mrs H teaches yoga after drop-off too; then the evenings tend to involve swimming, Guides and Scouts. Today has confirmed how difficult it is to juggle everything with only one adult around! Without the help of kind friends, covering all the activities would have been impossible.

I also had to get my phone sorted today after last night's terrible accident, acting decisively rather than wasting time agonising over what to do. By the time these things were done (hello, Nexus 5!), it was pretty clear that I wasn't going to manage the quick swim I had hoped for during the day. Since yesterday's run was relatively long, I wanted to give my legs a break from running, too, so I decided to take the lateral approach, doing some walking where I would normally have taken the car, eg to/from school to get the kids.

It worked well! My FitBit claims that I broke 6 miles walking, which I'm pretty pleased with, given that I didn't get the chance for my normal walking to the office. While the girls weren't overly keen with the walk back from school, I was very happy since it was beautiful out there, really wonderfully hot and sunny.

At swimming, one of the other parents had raised the idea of a bike ride, and I had a brief thought that I might be able to take my youngest out on the bike. Logistics just didn't allow it, though, so I had to just go with things as they were.

My final concession was to belt out a few press-ups to make me feel better about everything! 40 of them, and I'm done. All that's left now is a series of single-arm bottle raises...
