Janathon day 1: starting 2015 with a bracing group bike ride

Hello, fellow Janathoners, and welcome to 2015. May it be a great year for all of you!
Ok - now to business. Uncharacteristically, day 1 was done and dusted well before lunchtime. A fellow Wild Training friend of mine had suggested a New Year's Day bike ride, and the hearty response and subsequent planning meant that by 10am there were 7 of the Wild bunch assembled in the car park in Great Missenden, plus another 2 partners/friends up for an outing.
Thankfully, it was warmer than the last few days (or perhaps I should say "less freezing" - at least not actually frosty), and we were pretty lucky on the rain front too, with little more to worry about than spray being flung up from the wheels. There was a broad range of cycling abilities in our little team, but a very inclusive spirit: we regularly reconvened at various points through the ride. I suspect we all learnt some tricks from the partners/friends, who were extremely strong cyclists..!
We had an extremely pleasant jaunt around the Chilterns, clocking up a total of 23.1 miles (including the ride between Amersham and Missenden). Finally, to round it off, I gathered that Mrs H and our youngest had found themselves in Harris + Hoole in Amersham; joining them seemed a fitting end to our ride! There, over an extremely fine cappuccino, I learned that Mrs H (in her alternate incarnation as YogaByEllie) has some very exciting news about a new venue in Amersham that she hopes to start using soon for yoga classes! More of that soon, though, I hope.
Well, that's it for today. I hope everyone else has also enjoyed their first day back on the job..! Same time, same place tomorrow?
