Janathon '16 day 23: exercise by proxy

Today has been full-on! Mrs H was out doing circuits this morning, and our oldest was on the footie, and then our littlest had a school cross country event at Hervines Park in Amersham! As it turned out, hers was actually the earliest, so she and I traipsed over to the park ready for some action. It was cold and very muddy, but we were dressed for it so that was fine. We also bumped into some Wild Training folks down there, which was a nice surprise.

Ready ... steady ... GO!
So - the race itself. The younger ones had a 1.2Km course to cover, heading round the edge of a park and then through some hilly woodland before hitting the finish line. Not having done such things before, we weren't sure quite what would happen, but overall I think some good fun was had, which might have involved mud...

Afterwards #3 and I wondered into Amersham and met up with #2 in Harris+Hoole for something to warm us up a bit. (And, yes, I do occasionally call them #2 etc, but only for our amusement!) Then we wondered back, and then after lunch I took #1 and #2 into the Eden Centre in High Wycombe for some clothes shopping, then more walking, then ... So actually, I've done nearly 15,000 steps already and haven't actually made it to bed yet! So an active day, albeit a slight resting one.

So while I've managed an active walking day, the "real" exercise was only by proxy.
